Established in 1983
Our House was built in 1915. In the following years, communities throughout Wisconsin and neighboring states responded to pleas for funds to renovate existing homes suitable for Ronald McDonald Houses.
Marshfield converted this home into a Ronald McDonald House in 1983, less than 10 months after our Board’s first meeting.
Since we’ve opened, families of all types have stayed with us while their children received nearby care.
Ronald McDonald House of Marshfield builds a support system for families. Our families find themselves staying with the same families they see in the hospital or clinic every day. This creates a bond and support system like no other.
Though we see a variety of families, many are parents with babies in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Marshfield Children’s Hospital. Others are families who may live hours away, usually here in “The Northwoods” for summer fun.
When life takes unexpected turns, we provide normalcy and routine. Every day our families can find comfort in a private room, stocked kitchen, laundry facilities and close proximity to their child and care team.
Our signature programs and events
During our years as Ronald McDonald House of Marshfield, we’ve created programs and events to support our children and families.
Our signature events include the Marshfield Cranberry Bike Tour Charity Event every September, The Night that Love Built Gala every Spring and Sweet Affair every five years (coming again in 2018).
We’ve also built a program called Home for Dinner in which community members and local organizations volunteer to prepare meals for our families.
